Teach Computing KS3/4 (Diversity)
Aims: This event is to support teachers with the development of Computing & Computer Science in their schools. It will enable teachers to support their own professional development, provide access to free resources and activities as well as presenting opportunities for teachers to network with other teachers from their local area.
When pupils are offered a choice of subjects at KS4 in mixed schools, there is a tendency for GCSE Computer Science groups to be heavily populated by boys with relatively few girls opting for this subject. Some schools have seen other groups under-represented too. This event seeks to examine the evidence, explore why this is so and provide teachers & leaders with some proven strategies for increasing gender diversity in their GCSE & A-Level groups.
