Event description

Description

Are you looking for a new income using your creative skills or even a new career...???
The current revolution in learning traditional and contemporary creative skills means craft schools, cafes, clubs and arts venues are actively seeking confident and inspiring crafts teachers - could this be you?

I'm Melanie Blaikie and I’ve been teaching creative workshops since 2003 and will be the first to admit that those first few classes were a bit of a disaster – including the day a storm struck and water came pouring through the ceiling!

Since then, I’ve learned so much and over time have perfected my lesson planning strategy, delivery and promotions – including how to deal with those inevitable unexpected situations!

If you’ve considered teaching your craft but are not sure if or how you could do it – I know exactly where you’re coming from. So, in this class I want to share the secrets I’ve learned and my aim is that you will leave feeling ready and confident to start planning your own successful and profitable classes.

On the day, we'll cover

* Do I need to be an expert?

* Finding customers

* How to plan & price your classes

* Choosing a venue & preparing your classroom

* Creating a lesson plan

* Promoting yourself & your classes

This will be a fun and fact-filled, interactive day where you can collect all the information you need to get started.
