About NEACO and Take Your Place:
‘The Network for East Anglian Collaborative Outreach (neaco) aims to support more young people from underrepresented backgrounds to progress into higher education.
Our partners include all of the higher education providers in East Anglia, working closely with schools, Local Enterprise Partnerships, local authorities and other stakeholders.
neaco is one of 29 consortia across England that have been funded as part of the national collaborative outreach programme to deliver outreach in areas where the higher education participation of young people is low - and much lower than expected based on GCSE-level attainment.
Our Take Your Place framework is a fully funded and progressive programme for target students. It includes several strands, each addressing our target students' identified needs and aims to increase progression to higher education.’
About Wysing Arts Centre:
Wysing Arts Centre provides a range of programmes for artistic research, experimentation, discovery and production in contemporary visual arts. We aim to develop new ways to support artists and enable art and ideas to reach a wide range of people in unexpected ways. We work with visual artists, musicians, dancers, choreographers and writers, and those working in other disciplines that have a strong connection to the visual arts.
We view every child and young person that comes into contact with us as an artist, at an early stage in their life and career. As such, all our education programmes are designed to empower young artists to develop their creative thinking. Contemporary Art is a means to understand and question the world in which we live- a lens through which all curriculum areas can be explored. Our artist-led and peer-led projects offer innovative, inspiring and experimental workshops for learners and teachers, and can be designed to meet curriculum-based, topic-based, or skills-based learning needs.
