Event description

Description

Discover a compelling story of loyalty, loss, rebellion and retribution in Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobites at the National Museum of Scotland. This Private View for teachers allows you to explore the exhibition after hours which features over 300 spectacular objects including paintings, costumes, jewellery, documents, weapons and glassware.

Alongside the exhibition are a range of exciting new schools programmes which give you the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of the Jacobites by visiting key locations in Edinburgh. Find out more about sessions at:

  • Edinburgh Castle and the War Museum
  • Palace of Holyroodhouse
  • National Museum of Scotland

Staff from each of these organisations will be on hand to answer questions about their venues, their activities, and to tell you more about the Jacobites in Edinburgh. Find out more about visiting the exhibition with your classes on the National Museums Scotland website.

This event is perfect for teachers studying the Jacobites with their classes this year, or who want to find out more about this fascinating topic.

Refreshments are provided from 4.15pm, with the session starting at 4.30pm.
