Teaching about Climate Change- a short course for trainee teachers

This 3 part course will develop your knowledge, understanding & skills and help you teach confidently about climate. It will introduce you to practical approaches & resources about climate justice to incorporate into your lessons while on teaching practice, and give you ideas to share with colleagues about whole-school approaches to meet the latest DfE guidance.

Course Content - overview

Through the course you will consider:

• What is meant by climate justice?
• What impact does the climate emergency have on girls & women?
• What role does education play in supporting young people to learn about the human impact of the climate crisis around the world?
• What role does age-relevant social action play when working with young people ?
• Classroom activities and curriculum ideas to deliver the National Curriculum

This course normally costs £30 per participant but is free for trainee teachers, thanks to sponsorship from Oxfam.

How is it delivered?

It will consist of 3 two-hour workshops delivered on the following dates and times:

Tuesday July 5th 4-6pm

Tuesday July 12th 4-6pm

Tuesday July 19th 4-6pm.
