Teaching and Learning Leeds Conference 2017 - Building Hope in Education
Sat 1 July 2017, 09:00 – 16:00 BST
Following last year’s successful inaugural conference, GSAL are proud to host the Teaching and Learning Leeds Conference 2017, ‘Building Hope in Education’, for primary and secondary teachers in and around the region.
This years conference welcomes three keynote speakers and delegates can also select from an impressive and inspiring choice of workshops throughout the day.
Mary Myatt, adviser, writer and trainer, whose heart-felt keynote talk entitled ‘Hopeful Schools’ will look at education from the perspective of people, addressing difficult issues head on. She will help us to be more hopeful in making the experience in schools better for students, parents, teachers and leaders.
We are also proud to host Alex Quigley, author of ‘The Confident Teacher’, Twitter professional and assistant head at Huntingdon School, York and Steve Mallen, founder of the MindEd Trust, whose aim is to prevent mental illness in young people through education and provide early intervention to those starting to experience trauma.
Workshops this year include topics such as building healthy leadership teams, proactively developing an anti-bullying culture, supporting SEND and EAL students, CPD through coaching, inclusion, and retaining NQTs in the teaching profession. There will also be a range of subject specific workshops to select from.
Tickets are £25 per delegate including lunch and can be purchased below.
We will contact all delegates with detailed descriptions of all workshops in May when they will be asked to make their selection. Delegates can attend all three keynote talks and select additional workshops.
