We are very excited to bring you the first distance learning CACHE Level 4 Certificate for an Advanced Practitioner in Schools and Colleges.

It is the brand new qualification for experienced Teaching Assistants. It offers chance of gaining a higher level qualification for experienced teaching assistants/ LSA’s. This is the ideal course for you if you are experienced support worker and preferably have a level 3 certificate in a related subject. You must be employed in a schools or college environment .

This course starts at any time - all year round - we will personalise it to you! The course lasts 12 months from enrolment, although some learners may complete before this.

Total course cost £810

Pay £110 deposit and then we will arrange an interest free payment plan with you for the remaining £700

What does the qualification include?

This Level 4 qualification aims to provide professional development opportunities for practitioners working in the school and college workforce. This qualification will embrace the wealth of experience, proven knowledge and skills of the learner in a teaching and learning environment.

It will challenge the learner in both daily practice and theoretical understanding. Learners will acquire and use skills of leadership, mentoring, coaching and reflection as they complete the qualification through workbased learning opportunities.

Upon achievement of this qualification, the learner will be equipped as an Advanced Practitioner. The Advanced Practitioner will use crucial leadership skills to mentor others across all roles and responsibilities in the school or
college workforce.

There are five mandatory units:

Enabling individuals to learn
Understand how to support children and young people to improve their mental health and well-being
Working with others to support individuals with additional needs and
disability in a school or college
Working with families and other professionals in a school or college
setting
Implementing change in school or college setting

How is the qualification assessed?

You must complete a portfolio of evidence that must cover all assessment criteria which includes a series of written assignments, projects and workplace evidence which are submitted for assessment. You will receive feedback on your work and the opportunity to resubmit if further evidence is required. You will may observed in your work place by your assessor to demonstrate your occupational competence or need to provide expert witness testimony to evidene your skills performance.

Progression & employment opportunities

On successful completion of this qualification, learners may wish to progress onto higher education, teacher training or promotion within the workforce.
