Free professional development sessions for school support staff

Teaching assistants are an important resource in education. This workshop, presented by a lecturer from the Open University School of Education, Childhood and Youth, looks at how the role has developed across the UK and particularly in Wales over time.

Certificates are awarded at each session which build towards a dynamic CV and educational learning portfolio.

Teaching Assistants: Support in action

This workshop will explore how the teaching assistant role came into being, and how it has evolved as part of a wider assistant workforce in public services. We’ll identify the key skills that make teaching assistants such valued members of the school community, particularly in their support of children’s learning and wellbeing. We’ll encourage you to consider your current role and how you might want to develop in the future.

At the end of the workshop, you’ll get the chance to discover further training and learning opportunities from the OU in Wales.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided, please inform us of any dietary requirements by emailing: s.morris@unison.co.uk

Sesiynau datblygu proffesiynol rhad ac am ddim i staff cefnogi ysgolion

Mae cynorthwywyr addysgu’n adnodd pwysig mewn addysg. Mae’r gweithdy hwn, a gyflwynir gan ddarlithydd o Ysgol Addysg, Plentyndod ac Ieuenctid y Brifysgol Agored, yn ystyried sut y mae’r rôl wedi datblygu ar draws y DU, ac yn enwedig yng Nghymru, dros amser.

Dyfernir tystysgrifau ym mhob sesiwn a fydd yn cyfrannu at bortffolio dysgu a CV dynamig.

Cynorthwywyr Addysgu: Cymorth ar waith

Bydd y gweithdy’n archwilio sut y daeth y rôl i fod, a sut y mae wedi esblygu fel rhan o weithlu ehangach o gynorthwywyr yn y gwasanaethau cyhoeddus. Byddwn yn nodi’r sgiliau hollbwysig sy’n gwneud cynorthwywyr addysgu’n aelodau gwerthfawr o gymuned yr ysgol, yn enwedig y cymorth a roddant o safbwynt dysgu a llesiant y plant. Byddwn yn eich annog i ystyried eich rôl bresennol a sut y gallech ddymuno datblygu yn y dyfodol.

Ar ddiwedd y gweithdy cewch fwy o wybodaeth am hyfforddiant pellach a chyfleoedd dysgu gan y Brifysgol Agored yng Nghymru.

Darperir cinio a lluniaeth, rhowch wybod i ni am unrhyw anghenion dietegol drwy e-bostio: s.morris@unison.co.uk

Hoffem roi gwybodaeth i chi am gyfleoedd astudio yn y Brifysgol Agored/UNISON yn y dyfodol a gwybodaeth berthnasol arall. Cadarnhewch, os gwelwch yn dda, eich bod yn dymuno derbyn y wybodaeth hon. Ydw /Na

Efallai y defnyddir y wybodaeth yr ydych yn ei darparu i’n cynorthwyo i gynllunio a gwella ein gwasanaethau, ac efallai y byddwn yn cysylltu â chi at ddibenion ymchwil cwsmer.
