Target audience: Y3/4 teachers

Course leader: Alison Bailey, Pathfinder consultant trainer

This day will focus on the key priorities and most effective teaching approaches for teaching the English curriculum at Y3/4. It will include the teaching of reading comprehension (including organisation for catch-up phonics and decoding), teaching and securing spelling patterns and common exception words as well as developing children’s understanding of written English including applying the NC grammar requirements into children’s independent writing. These will all be considered in the context of age-appropriate, cross-curricular, engaging topics which develop children’s oracy and vocabulary and prepare them to meet the expected standards in English at the end of lower KS2.

NOTES:

This course includes lunch and refreshments.

There is plenty of parking at the school.
