Teaching English at Year 5-6

Target audience: Y5/6 teachers

This day will focus on the key priorities and most effective teaching approaches for teaching the English curriculum at Y5/6. It will include the teaching of deeper reading comprehension and teaching and securing increasingly accurate spelling and grammar in children’s independent writing for a range of audiences and purposes. These will all be considered in the context of cross-curricular, engaging topics which develop children’s oracy and vocabulary and prepare them to meet the expected standards in English at the end of KS2.
This course includes lunch and refreshments.
There is plenty of parking at the school.
