Teaching Fundamentals is a new series of professional development sessions from SALT which aim to consider aspects of learning, teaching and assessment which are fundamental to student experience and success. Sessions will take place on the 3rd Thursday of each month during term time.

In this first session, colleagues from the School of Psychology share with us their approaches to teaching and assessing large groups, with a particular focus on in-situe formative assessment. The team will share a presentation which covers ways of supporting large lectures with online resources, techniques for fostering engagement in large groups, and scalable assessment and feedback considerations. There will be time following the presentation for a panel discussion and questions from participants. If you are teaching large groups and would like to hear about colleagues' experiences or if you would just like to hear about research informed teaching practices, then we look forward to seeing you there.
