Special Collections offers a treasure trove of untapped resources, from poetry to politics and religion to radicals. As a world class resource, these Collections offer great opportunities to enhance learning and teaching at the University.

Join curators, tutors and specialists will at an informal evening event to discuss and explore ways of bringing collections to teaching and inspiring students.

Bring along questions, ideas and thoughts or come to discover how Special Collections can help to enrich your teaching.

Where: Christie Room, John Rylands Library, Deansgate

When: Thursday 26th April, 5-7pm

On the evening, there will be:

  • a small and informal collections encounter to show some key items

  • insight into the digital resources from Special Collections which can support teaching

  • support and guidance on how to find and choose materials relevant to your teaching

  • short talks from tutors on their experiences of using the collections for teaching

  • ideas from the Special Collections’ Education Manager of how to create bespoke sessions

  • an opportunity to explore the materials on display and to discuss ideas

  • refreshments to help stimulate discussion
