Description

The University of York and the Museum of London are collaborating to put on a Study Day for History Teachers at both secondary and primary levels. This will focus on the teaching of medieval immigration, and in particular, workshops and presentations on using the England's Immigrants resources. There will also be opportunity to discuss teaching medieval history in general. Information about the England's Immigrants project and the teaching resources can be found at www.englandsimmigrants.com.

The day will include a tour to Charterhouse Museum, talks, presentations and workshops from academics at the University of York and education professionals from the National Archives, the Museum of London and OCR, as well as one of the teachers who took part in the England's Immigrants Teacher Scholar Programme. Speakers will include:

- Andrew Payne, the National Archives

- Ben Walsh

- Dan Lyndon (co-author of OCR Migration to Britain textbook)

Further details of the programme will be finalised shortly. For any more information or enquiries, please contact Jonathan Hanley at the University of York at jonathan.hanley@york.ac.uk.
