Event description

Description

The University of York and the Museum of London are collaborating to present a study day for teachers of History on Teaching Medieval Immigration. This will focus on research undertaken on the medieval immigrant population of England at the University of York. The project, England's Immigrants 1330-1550, (englandsimmigrants.com), has produced an easy-to-use and easily adaptable and freely available resources for teachers to use.

There will be workshops from history teachers, members of the education at the National Archives and from academic researchers about the material and how to use those, and other primary sources in the classroom. Curatorial staff from the Museum of London will also present some artefacts which tell the story of immigration in London.

There will also be a tour of the Charterhouse Museum at the end of the day. Lunch will also be provided.

Registration is free!

Full details of the day will be available soon, but in the meantime please email any further questions to Jonathan Hanley at jonathan.hanley@york.ac.uk.
