Teaching mental health & wellbeing in primary schools with High Five Clubs
Event Information
About this event
Is your primary school or community group interested in improving mental health & wellbeing among children?
Perhaps you are a wellbeing lead for your school, or want to improve your PSHE or RSHE provision?
We are Mind Train CIC – and we have developed a weekly wellbeing club called High Five Club - based on the ‘5 Ways to Mental Wellbeing’ as recommended by the NHS. This offers a flexible approach - that can be delivered as a before or after school club, or as part of the RSE/PSHE curriculum - to support children in understanding and supporting their own mental health and wellbeing.
Starting in January 2022, High Five Clubs will teach children skills so that they can:
- Connect with others to develop social skills and friendships
- Understand the ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’ and make choices to help them take care of their own wellbeing
- Learn mindfulness strategies that can support social & emotional intelligence
- Understand the importance of learning for our mental health and wellbeing
- Know how to have a healthy lifestyle through diet and exercise
