Teaching Outstanding Lessons
Sat 29 October 2016, 10:00 – 14:00 BST
"Outstanding" needn't be confusing. Forget anything you've been told about the key being flashy resources, magic plenaries and having the “X factor", this course will break down what Outstanding means and what it looks like.
You will consider progress and challenge for all pupils, how to check it is happening and how to demonstrate this to an observer. The course will be led by an experienced teacher: a former Head of English and Head of Whole-School Intervention, who has extensive experience in observing lessons for professional development and for interviews.
What will this course cover?
° An overview of the Ofsted criteria for teaching and learning
° The opportunity to observe and apply these criteria to examples
° Practical strategies to enable Outstanding teaching and learning within all classrooms.
What will you gain from this course?
° Knowledge of up-to-date criteria for Outstanding teaching and learning
° An understanding of what ‘Outstanding’ looks like for day-to-day teaching
° A toolkit of ideas to take away and apply to your own planning and delivery
