Event description
Teaching statutory Relationships, Relationships and Sex (RSE) and Health Education in Church Schools and Academies with Josie Rayner-Wells

About this Event

‘The Church of England welcomes, supports and expects the teaching of Relationships and Health Education in all Church of England primary schools. It is up to each primary school to decide whether they wish to choose to teach some aspects of Sex Education but we encourage schools to offer age appropriate provision.’. - Church of England

This course provides an opportunity to focus on taking evidence-based, effective teaching of relationships and sex education (RSE) to improve the safeguarding, health and happiness of pupils, within the context of a CE school. Attendance of this course will enable delegates to:

• Use the Church of England RSHE Charter to underpin approaches to RSE

• Know how to teach RSE in a faith-sensitive and inclusive way

• Develop confidence in teaching core RSE lessons, including sex education

• Consider a range of common RSE challenges, including how to overcome them.

Cost: £50 to all church schools and academies

Audience: Headteachers, teachers and teaching assistants of Voluntary Aided, Voluntary Controlled or Foundation Church Schools and Academies
