The tutors

Richard Rex is a Fellow of Queens' College, Cambridge, where he is director of studies in theological and religious studies. Richard's research interests focus on the interaction between religion, politics, and ideas in early modern England and Europe. His main current project is an exploration of the emergence and impact of the theology and public persona of Martin Luther in the imperial and European context of the early 16th century.

Steve Mastin is subject specialist leader for history at the Inspiration Trust. He has worked in the state sector for 17 years, beginning his career in an independent boarding school. As an experienced head of department, Steve produced his own textbooks to ensure a knowledge-rich curriculum was delivered throughout KS3, beginning with depth studies of ancient history in Year 7. He has written for various educational journals and an A Level textbook, trained history teachers for the University of Cambridge, the Ministry of Education in Singapore and worked with new and experienced teachers in Kazakhstan for many years. Steve has also advised the Department of Education on the history curriculum in England and is a regular speaker at history conferences.

Michael Fordham is subject specialist leader for history at Inspiration Trust. He formerly taught in three state comprehensives, holding positions as head of history and assistant principal. Michael is an influential researcher, author, editor, blogger and speaker on curriculum issues. He has extensive experience as a trainer, including projects in Kazakhstan and as teacher-in-residence for the Singapore Ministry of Education.
