Aim
This two-day course has been designed to help attendees maximise opportunities for improving both individual teaching practice and personal development.
Course learning outcomes
After this course, you should be able to:
- Identify and apply key learning theories
- Structure, develop and write effective learning outcomes
- Evaluate learning sessions
- Recognise cognitive load theory and identify strategies to mitigate it
- Identify and discuss assessment strategies
- Plan teaching interventions
- Identify and discuss primary modes of feedback
- Identify basic digital tools to prepare learning content
- Recognise and support students experiencing difficulties
- Teach a practical skill
Format
- The course will run over two-days; the first being Thursday 18th September 2025, followed by day two on Friday 19th September 2025
- Both days start at 9.00am and finish at approximately 4.15pm and will be held at Keele University's School of Medicine
- Physical attendance is required on both days in order to be elibigle for the certificate of completion
This training is only offered free to clinicians who have teaching contact with students studying at Keele's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. If this does not apply to you, you may still be able to attend but there will be a charge. Please contact medicine.training@keele.ac.uk for more information.
Please note, if you reserve and place on this course but do not attend, a charge will be made to your trust. To avoid this, please cancel your booking or let us know in advance so we can offer your place to someone else on the waiting list
