Event description

Description

Join us as Professor Julie Hall, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at Solent delivers a thought provoking professorial lecture.

In a society increasingly dependent upon technology, students are living between two separate worlds. They are divided between a world of bodies, desks and chairs, and the digital world. Julie Hall National Teaching Fellow and Professor of Higher Education will argue that common teaching methods and assessments are rooted in 3D.

In this lecture Julie will argue that some teaching practises are dangerous and even violent. Exploring the repercussions of these methods, Julie will focus not only upon the student, but also the lecturer, the university and society as a whole. What should universities do to recognise this shift from 3D to 4D?

During the evening you will also have the opportunity to network with peers over light refreshments.
