Use the power of Twitter to send our presenters a message about #TMBradford and ask them what great teaching and learning ideas they'll be presenting.
What is a TeachMeet? A fun, informal event for sharing great ideas for teaching and learning with opportunities to meet other educators. The purpose is to enable teachers to share good practice, practical innovations and personal insights in teaching. Read more about TeachMeets here: [What is a TeachMeet?]
What should I expect? Entertainment, refreshments, raffle prizes and lots of interesting ideas that you could be using in your classroom the very next day. However, if you're attending our exabytes conference the next day - you'll have to wait until Friday to try them in your classroom!
What do I need to bring? You're welcome to bring an idea you'd like to share or just a willingness to try a fresh idea.
Do I really need to present? Although TeachMeets thrive when lots of teachers offer to present, nobody will be forced to present. However, we would ask you to please consider presenting. You don't need to be an expert on something to present an idea; you might share something you've observed, heard, read about or something you've tried in your own classroom. You can present for either 2 minutes or 7 minutes. Some presenters choose to use slides, but it's not a requirement. It's not the place for a commercial organisation to promote their products or services.
Why is this TeachMeet taking place? TeachMeet Bradford will take place on the evening before our exabytes one-day conference to inspire, support and promote the effective use of technology in education. Some conference delegates will be staying at the hotel the night before, so we thought a TeachMeet event open to all would provide some suitable entertainment the night before. If you're not able to attend exabytes, you're still welcome to join our TeachMeet.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? Limited free parking for delegates is available at the hotel or £3 at The Broadway, use Sat Nav code BD1 1JR. Let the train take the strain - Bradford has two railway stations, Forster Square (services from Ilkley, Skipton & Leeds) is next door to the hotel, and Bradford Interchange (services from Leeds, London, York, Blackpool, Huddersfield, Selby, Rochdale) just 8 minutes walk away (map).
