Event description

Description

With only the bare bones of guidance from the National Curriculum, how do we produce a creative arts curriculum from the ground up that meets the needs of the communities we serve? Join A New Direction’s Advocates for a teacher-led event exploring creative approaches to curriculum delivery in all Key Stages.

Following an informal teachmeet format, with speakers from education and the arts, together we will share what works, and rethink, reimagine, and reapply ideas and existing practice. Wine, nibbles and opportunities for networking will be provided.

If you are interested in speaking at this event (all presentations must be no longer than 7 minutes, and slides/handouts are optional), please contact laura.fuller@anewdirection.org.uk as soon as possible. We are particularly keen to hear from speakers meeting one of the following criteria:

  • Speakers from schools that have an established and highly successful arts curriculum

  • Speakers from arts/ cultural organisations that have an interest/ experience in curriculum design support

  • Speakers from Artsmark Partner organisations or Platinum Artsmark Schools on how Artsmark/Arts Award can aid in curriculum design and practice innovation.

This event is suitable for teachers and teaching assistants working in London schools, from all disciplines and Key Stages, with an interest in creative learning. Cultural organisations with an interest and experience in supporting schools with curriculum design are also welcome.
