Target Audience
This session is open to all staff and students interested in Team Based Learning (TBL) as a teaching and/or learning method.
Session Overview
Team Based Learning is a structured approach to teaching and learning that engages students through a systematic process of preparation, assessment, and application of knowledge
This session will introduce participants to the TBL process and the underpinning learning theories. The session will explore how TBL can effectively be utilised in healthcare and medical education.
Session Intended Learning Outcomes
This session will enable participants to:

identify the educational value of TBL;

show an understanding of the TBL stages and the underpinning learning theories;

apply their knowledge about TBL to design and deliver effective learning environments within their own teaching and learning contexts.
Methods of Facilitation
This interactive teaching session will include group tasks such as a mini TBL exercise.
Please note that this session includes a simple pre-reading activity. We will send the pre-reading for registered participants prior to the session.
