Join the University of Dundee's School of Medicine for a 1-day Team-based Learning (TBL) workshop.
This workshop is aimed at medical educationalists who are in the process of implementing Team Based Learning or who are considering starting TBL.
TBL is a structured approach to collaborative learning, used worldwide in a range of education, including healthcare education. The TBL strategy involves a specific sequence of individual and team activities. It provides opportunities for problem-solving, immediate feedback, and student accountability for engagement with the learning process.
Where: School of Medicine, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee

Workshop led by:
Dr Shihab Khogali, Clinical Senior Lecturer in Medical Education. An experienced TBL practitioner, who led on the implementation of TBL in the undergraduate medical curriculum at the University of Dundee. He also presented nationally and internationally on TBL.
Dr Susie Schofield, Senior Lecturer in Medical Education, deputy director of the University of Dundee's Centre for Medical Education.
Content of the workshop:
- Overview of the TBL approach and its educational benefits
- Apply design principles for developing a TBL module
- Experience the Dundee award-winning technology-enhanced approach to TBL
- Discuss benefits and challenges for implementing TBL with an experienced practitioner
- Join a national collaboration on TBL focussed on practice and research
The day is mapped to the GMC RoT, and 5 internal CPD points will be awarded. All participants will receive a handout and a Certificate of Attendance.
