Aims of the session
This session enables participants to develop an understanding of the purpose of teams and how they can confidently contribute to the work of a team.
By the end of this session participants will be able to:
Discuss the difference between a group and a team
Identify the contributions that they make to a team activity
Discuss the varied roles that individuals play within a team
A team game needs to be prepared by the trainers in advance of the session, as described. The session begins with an ideastorm, identifying the definition of teamworking. This is then followed by a team game. As a large group, a discussion identifies the roles that they played in the team game and are encouraged to use their strengths in future teamwork.
