Event description

Description

Aimed at staff of NUIG to share practice and ideas we invite you to the third event in a series organised by the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching on the broad question of 'what is a higher education?', this time on the theme of teamwork, collaboration and leadership. The ability to collaborate with others and work effectively as part of a team are key to enabling graduates to succeed as citizens and in the workplace, and research has shown that student-to-student collaboration benefits learning. Those who develop the capacity for teamwork and collaboration, which involves managing diversity and conflict within groups, are much more likely to become effective leaders in our highly networked, global society.

We will hear from academic staff from various different disciplines about how their undergraduate curricula foster positive collaborative dispositions in students, that will help them to develop strong leadership skills, and continue the discussion over a light lunch.

Places are limited.

Please note this is not a workshop on critical thinking skills for students.
