Teapot Making with Britta James
Overview
Course outline:
Students will learn about overall design principles, ergonomics and aesthetics of a teapot. This includes different forms of teapot bodies, gallery and lid solutions and handles (pulled, lugs, loop).
Requirements: the course is for intermediate and advanced throwers. Participants should be able to to throw cylinders with up to 2kg and have had some experience with pulling a handle.
Day 1: General introduction to teapots. Throwing teapot bodies and and lids
Day 2: Throwing teapot bodies and lids, throwing spouts of the hump
Day 3: Trimming teapots and attaching spouts, loop handles
Day 4: Handles and finishing teapots from day 2
