Description

A good news campaign, from Opus by Carpe Diem, looks to draw attention to the success of the local digital sector and the opportunities that exist for training or reskilling, leading to employment.

Supported by sponsors Yellowbus and Birchwood Park, the campaign kicks off with a series of breakfast sessions in the EngineRooms at Birchwood Park, the North West’s leading out of town business destination and part of the Cheshire Science Corridor.

The commercial geography of Warrington means much of the working population are employed outside of the town centre, in the donut’s outer ring. So Carpe Diem are taking their campaign on the road alongside a cast of speakers representing the breadth of the digital industries across Warrington.

17th September: Prefab lives – Chris Hillidge from FabLab

19th September: The Pledge – Aimee Ruddy and Stacey Rutter from the LEP

24th September: Don’t spoil a good story – Darren Jeffries from Ludovico

26th September: What digital skills shortage? – Stuart Browne from Resulting

1st October: Are you a digital risk? – Ben Hart from HooAreYoo

3rd October: Jobs that don’t exist yet – Paul Chisnall from CreativeHUT

All the speakers are members, partners or friends of Opus, the town centre coworking and collaboration space run by Carpe Diem in Culture Warrington’s Pyramid Arts Centre.

Dedicated to digital creatives and technologists, Opus is a home for start-ups, high-growth innovators and community groups like WAGames.
