Event description

Description

As a human race we are using and progressing technology more than ever before. Things that just weren't ever imagined or thought to be feasible decades ago are now commonplace as we integrate technology into almost ever area of our lives.

So how is technology moving things forward in the world of fashion?

Ignore the naysayers...technology is NOT always a bad thing! True, there have been examples of people using tech practices to cut corners and ignore the responsibilities they hold towards the environment and communities. But for the most part, new ideas and advances in technology are being used to erase the problems of the past and in fact make this industry, and this world, a better place.

Our Tech For Good Panel is an amazing opportunity to get up to date with the progress being made to use innovative technologies to sustainably advance the world of fashion. From new fabrics and new technologies to future techniques, our panelists will enable you to understand and imagine how tech can be used for good.

Panelists include: Bethnel Green Ventures, What 3 Words, Hephzi Pemberton CEO Equality Group and Kiteka and Sheeza Shah CEO Upeffect.

Please note: There will be no toilet on site and no disabled access to the lower floor of the events space.

Refreshments provided by Karma Cola, Luscombe Drinks and One Water.

Bethnal Green Ventures

At Bethnal Green Ventures we help talented teams launch and scale tech for good ventures that will significantly improve millions of lives.

At the heart of what we do is the belief that technology has the potential to transform the way we approach solving the world’s most pressing environmental and social challenges.

There are significant problems in healthcare, education, sustainability and democracy and we want to support better ways of addressing those problems. Better solutions are a good thing for humanity, and a huge economic opportunity too. Technology allows for radically different approaches to social and environmental problems; which are able to scale their reach faster and with declining unit cost, enabling more social and environmental impact.

What3words

what3words provides a precise and incredibly simple way to talk about location. We have divided the world into a grid of 3m x 3m squares and assigned each one a unique 3 word address.

Better addressing can enhance customer experience, deliver business efficiency, drive growth and support social and economic development.
