Nesta is holding an event alongside Cabinet Office, supported by Nominet Trust and Omidyar Network, to showcase the potential of Tech For Good. Social innovation and technological innovation have for too long been distinct disciplines in the UK and technology remains underutilised as a driver of positive change. There is huge potential for technological innovations to build scalable and transformative solutions that deliver positive social outcomes, particularly in areas such as education and healthcare.
This event will explore the opportunities for tech entrepreneurs and investors to deliver innovative products and services with impact. We will bring together the tech community, policy makers and key intermediaries to discuss these opportunities, what some of the key barriers are to the development of Tech For Good, as well as exploring how the UK can accelerate the development this sector.
Cabinet Office will also be announcing the first round of Social Incubator Fund winners. The Social Incubator Fund supports incubators investing in early-stage social ventures.
Registration will open at 17.00 with drinks and canapés following the event.
