GDPR MADE SIMPLE
To meet the needs of all businesses in the ever-increasing age of technology applications, Birchwood Forum is launching a special forum to deliver a range of topics which are critical for business continuity and business development. Top of the agenda for all businesses is the new European legislation coming into force on 25th May 2018. The General Data Protection Regulation [GDPR] EU2016/679 is intended to strengthen and unify data protection for all individuals within the European Union. Aimed to give control back to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU.
The regulation was adopted on 27 April 2016. It becomes enforceable from 25 May 2018 as unlike a directive it does not require national governments to pass any enabling legislation and is thus directly binding and applicable.
This session aims to simplify how businesses can manage the process towards GDPR.
