WHAT’S THE SESSION ABOUT?

This session will focus on International Expansion. You'll hear from some entrepreneurs who've expanded into Australia and the United States, as well as experienced and insightful individuals from Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and Buckley Sandler on how to prepare for an international move.

We'll be covering a vast array of content in this session. How do you choose where to move: EU vs Asia vs US? The legal, structuring issues; choosing the right partners; preventing competition taking over your business; and becoming regulated in other countries. We'll set the scene around what you should expect when you embark on a move overseas.

AGENDA

12:00pm - 1:00pm: Arrival and Lunch

1:00pm - 2:30pm: Sophie Hossack & Stephen Lemon

2:30pm - 2:45pm Break

2:45pm - 5:30pm - Coming to America; US Expansion and Fundraising - Daniel Glazer & Michelle Rogers

For many high-growth enterprises, there’s nowhere better to start and grow than the UK, and nowhere better to expand and raise later-stage funding than the United States. The US offers the promise of massive commercial opportunities and plentiful venture and growth capital. However, doing business and raising money in an unfamiliar, highly-competitive environment requires thoughtful advance planning and clinical execution.

In this facilitated Q&A session, we will discuss best practices for navigating the logistical aspects of launching and operating a UK business in the States, and setting and meeting expectations for US later-stage funding.

Here’s a sample of various frequently-asked questions:

When should I consider establishing US operations?

When should I look to raise money from US VCs?

Your sessions will be facilitated by -

Steve Lemon, Co-Founder & Vice President of Currency Cloud. Steve was responsible for CurrencyCloud's expansion into the US market.

And our experienced and expert partners Daniel Glazer, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and Michelle Rogers, Buckley Sandler.
