Tech Nomads is a monthly meetup where you can connect with others interested in programming and the tech industry. The meetups will give you an opportunity network, share ideas, learn from each other and write some code.

Learn how to build a fully functional members website that allows your users to post blogs, photo galleries, or other content without writing one line of code.

This workshop will walk you through building a bespoke application through Drupal’s UI from start to finish. We’ll create and configure storage for your content, create custom lists to show your content, allow registered users to add their own content, and more.

We’ll only be using Drupal core to build our site and won’t be relying on third party add-ons to provide any pre-built features or functionality. We’ll cover core concepts of Drupal site building, learning the basics of the structure of a Drupal website, using tools that Drupal provides out of the box. This will include:

• User registration
• User roles and permissions
• Content types
• Fields
• Media
• Display modes
• Layouts
• Menus
• Blocks
• Taxonomy
• Views

An online Drupal installation will be provided for each person attending so you can build your own site during the workshop. There’s no need to configure your own development environment or install anything to participate. All you need is a laptop to follow along.
