CHANGE OF VENUE DETAILS

The event is now being held in The Auditorium at Brighthelm Centre, North Road, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 1YD in Brighton's city centre.

This new venue has been secured due to a higher than expected demand for tickets, and is just a minute's walk around the corner from Community Base. As a result, any parking and/or accommodation plans that you may have already put in place can still remain.

Registration will start at 9:30am with refreshments and the event will begin at 10:00am with the opening address. The guest keynote speakers will be as follows:

• Prof. Elizabeth Yardley, BSc, PhD - Professor of Criminology, School of Social Sciences, Birmingham City University
• Dr Jane Monckton-Smith, BA (Hons), PhD - Senior Lecturer in Criminology, Social Sciences, University of Gloucester

There will also be a cyber workshop with Nick Podd, the cyber security specialist from Veritas Justice, and personal accounts of cyber-enabled abuse from our service users.

Topics covered will include:

• the harms of omnipresence
• surveillance techniques
• spyware, trackers and other forms of digital monitoring
• exploring links between time investment, technology and violence
• the pitfalls of social media & online dating
• cyberstalking
• practical tips for minimising risk

Lunch will be provided, as will morning and afternoon refreshment breaks.

Due to the packed schedule for the day, it has been necessary to extend the programme by 30 minutes.
