Tech4Good August Meet Up
Date and time
Description
Tech4Good is a monthly meetup where the activist and developer communities in Newcastle get smashed together and enjoy the beautiful and interesting discussions that are far too rarely had. August's meetup explores the Society/Technology boundary line, with the question 'When does a technological problem become a social problem?'.
This is the first Tech4Good in its new home in Gateshead's Baltic Business Quarter. Come and eat, drink and discuss the most interesting problems under the sun with the best people around!
Schedule:
5:30pm - ARRIVE, get some food, grab a drink, suggest a topic for the big discussion - this will probably happen in the lounge kind of area.
6:00pm - BIG TALK, using the post-it notes as prompts, sharing our experiences and interests as a large group - this will probably happen in the meeting room
6:45pm - PROJECTS, hear lightning presentations on exciting tech-social projects happening in the North East and beyond - meeting room also
7:15pm - FREE TALK, small group discussion with anyone who's interested you over the night, exchange phone numbers, make plans, start a new project, this part is what the night is all about; seeing what new opportunities can be put together from a diverse range of people - wherever the people want!
'Digital Futures', Generator's business support programme, is designed to meet the business development needs of the North East's creative and digital businesses. This programme is part-funded by England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020. Places at this event are FREE OF CHARGE for creative and digital SMEs from North East England, thanks to ERDF funding.*
