Description
Technology can provide many benefits to people experiencing domestic abuse. It can also be used by victims/survivors to access help and remain connected to family and friends. However, technology can also be used by perpetrators to continue to try to control and abuse. It is therefore vital that peope who work with the victims and survivors of domestic abuse have an understanding of the risks t perosnal safety inherent in all aspects of technology.
This half-day semimar will be faciliated by Steven McNeill, Senior Social Work Practitioner, South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust and will provide attendees with information on
- the ways abusers misuse technology
- the ways in which victims and survivors can use technology more safely
The event is free to attend and is open to practitioners from the community, voluntary and statutory sectors.
