Listen to North East tech startups pitch their ideas to win a cash prize, all whilst enjoying a bowl of soup.
About this event
Do you want to hear the latest tech for good ideas in the North East and help them on their startup journey? Or perhaps you have a bright idea and would like to win a cash prize? Then register today for TechSoup!
What Is It?
TechSoup is a non-profit event held to support local startups. Attendees will hear some of the most exciting upcoming tech ideas in the North East, pitched by the startups.
By purchasing a ticket for the event, you will be donating towards the micro-fund whilst having the opportunity to hear and vote for the best startup idea on the night. All this whilst enjoying (you guessed it) a bowl of soup!
The startup that receives the most votes wins 100% of the proceeds raised through ticket sales. This helps those with exciting ideas that are still in their grassroots or early-stage phase.
Where Did TechSoup Come From?
TechSoup originated in Detroit, USA, to bring together local communities. Since its creation in 2010, they have raised over $100k for local projects. It is not just a way of giving startups a cash boost, but it also helps them with exposure as they begin their journey.
Want a Shot at the Cash?
We want to help the local economy and those who need some encouragement to take the plunge into the tech sector. Even with just small steps, we want to make a big difference.
We are looking for 5-10 tech startups/ or individuals with tech 'bright ideas' who would like to pitch. Pitches will last for 5 minutes and the audience will vote for their favourite. If you click the button to register, you’ll be able to apply as a startup pitcher on the night. Places for those wishing to pitch will be confirmed in advance.
What's Next?
We plan on hosting more TechSoup events around the North East, so this will be the first of many. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like to get involved. We hope to see you there; let us continue the global soup movement here in Tyne and Wear!
We will also be accepting donations on the night to go towards the micro-fund for the winning startup!
We want our events to be inclusive and accessible for everyone. Please let us know about any accessibility requirements you may have when you book your place.
