Chaired by leading Geographer Simon Ross, this CPD day will provide Geography teachers with invaluable information and ideas to take back to the classroom.

We are also holding this event on June 13th in Banstead >

Keynote Presentation

The day will include a keynote presentation by Cambridge University PhD student Thorbjorg Agustsdottir, who will present an update on volcanic activity in Iceland, considering the behaviour of Iceland's active volcanoes and discussing how they are monitored. Thorbjorg will focus particularly on the recent activity of Bardarbunga Volcano.

Also on the itinerary:

  • A consideration of practical classroom applications in delivering geographical skills through tectonic activity.

  • Workshops from Simon Ross, author of several bestselling geography textbooks, including GCSE Geography AQA (OUP).
