WHAT IS THE TEDx GLOBAL IDEA SEARCH?

In partnership with nine TEDx organizers, TED is holding nine Global Idea Searches in 2025. Anyone with an idea worth spreading can apply. Each search will culminate in a spectacular in-person event showcasing remarkable ideas from that region. One speaker from each event will be invited to give their talk live at the TED conference in Vancouver in April 2026. Find out more.

Doors will open at 6pm

The event will start at 6:30pm

WHO IS SPEAKING?

Rosa Vasquez Espinoza: Peruvian scientist and National Geographic Explorer proving that when Indigenous wisdom and modern science work as equals, they create solutions neither could achieve alone – from protecting 2+ million native bees to co-authoring Peru's first law safeguarding them.

Maximilian Prüfer: German artist who developed Naturantypie, an ultra-fine imaging technique that reveals nature's invisible traces - ant footsteps, raindrop patterns, mite movements - opening a hidden universe of collective intelligence and philosophical wonder.

Leah Brown FRSA: Solicitor and mediator flipping justice backwards, moving from punishment to healing, through a four-stage framework she's used to help Britain's public institutions rebuild trust exponentially faster than traditional approaches.

Gabriella Di Laccio MBE: is an award-winning soprano and activist passionate about sharing the music and stories history forgot. As founder of the Donne Foundation and a Guinness World Record holder, she created one of the world’s largest databases of women composers and is leading a global movement to ensure women’s voices are heard - and remembered - in music.

Dr. Julia Shaw: Criminal psychologist who spent three years profiling environmental criminals to reveal the "six pillars" behind planetary destruction—and the unsung army of undercover agents, scientists, and regulators already winning the fight to stop them.

Daze Aghaji: Climate activist and cultural strategist who co-founded Extinction Rebellion Youth and believes our greatest crises, from the resurgence of the far-right to climate collapse, stem from one root: we've lost the stories, myths, and folklore that once taught us how to belong to ourselves, each other, and the land.

Nyneisha Bansal: Cambridge medical student who learned from her great-grandmother that crochet is autobiography, every stitch a word, every blanket a chapter, proving that women's crafts dismissed as "granny hobbies" are actually powerful archives of resilience, memory, and connection that preserve voices never written down.

Julia Middleton: Founder of Common Purpose who led it across 120 cities worldwide and now runs Women Emerging, sharing hard-won lessons on "Working Grandmotherhood", because if you thought balancing work and motherhood was tough, try doing it when you're no longer number one and your time gets squeezed in entirely new ways.

Gemma Andrews: Chartered civil engineer who's spent her career building the invisible infrastructure no one notices from railway systems, tunnels to sustainable nuclear energy. Gemma wants to flip the script on construction from "dirty, delays, disruption" to "inspiring, intriguing, imaginative" by celebrating hidden climate solutions like Delhi's rainwater metro and Switzerland's glacier tunnels.

Ben Hurst: Director of Facilitation at Beyond Equality who consulted on Netflix's Adolescence and advised the Prime Minister, will be sharing his insights on the Manosphere. Boys aren't broken, our systems are and we have what we need to help young men find belonging before algorithms do.
