Who should attend?

Suitable for professionals who work with grieving teenagers, in whatever capacity.

Course facilitator:

Mark Denney has a teaching background and was a Subject Leader in PSHE and an advisor for a Local Education Authority before running an education training business that delivered workshops in hundreds of schools all over the UK.

Mark started as a volunteer with the child bereavement charity Simon Says 10 years ago and went on to lead their Young Persons Group - about 25 teenagers attended the group monthly. He also worked as their school’s advisor and developed workshops and resources, as well running training.

He has worked as a trainer for Child Bereavement UK since 2015 and between 2017-2020 worked on a project to support families and professionals affected by the Grenfell Tower Fire. After which he became part of the Child Bereavement UK West London team where he worked as a Bereavement Support Practitioner. He runs an online business writing resources for schools and has written a book, in conjunction with Child Bereavement UK, called “Activities for Working with Bereaved Young People” for professionals working with bereaved children.
