⚠️ Important Information Teenfest @DergFest 23 for attendees, parents and guardians ⚠️

This year we are running a TeenFest night. Due to licensing laws we have had to restrict the main events to +18. We have received massive feedback over the years that due to this, there is a need to make our events more inclusive. As a result we have decided to run a Festival Night for teenagers. This will be a festival atmosphere, with top DJs, there will also be funfair rides and carnival attractions.

This is for Secondary School Children only. It is not suitable for younger children. Strictly no +18s unless in a carer capacity.

This is to allow us to ensure that we have contact details for a parent or guardian, as this is a required field to purchase a ticket.

🥳We want good times for everyone, and to ensure this please read our rules below which you must accept to attend.

Attendees

ℹ️ Please have your downloaded ticket ready to scan. Please have your phone fully charged.

❌No bags bigger than A4 size. Strictly no alcohol, cans, bottles, tobacco or vapes permitted on site🚭.

🚷 No one who has consumed or is under the influence of alcohol or any other substances will be permitted to the site.

⛔️👮‍♀️ We have a 0 tolerance drugs policy. Anyone found to be in possession or distributing drugs will be reported to police.

🚷 There is no re-entry to the site except in exceptional circumstances. There are food, drink, and toilet facilities all within the festival grounds.

🚮 Please respect both the festival site and our neighbours and surrounding community. Teenagers get a bad rap sometimes, let’s show everyone that stereotype is wrong by being respectful and leaving no trace while enjoying yourself!

🚖 Parents & Guardians 🚖

We take our responsibility for safety and safeguarding very seriously. Below are some of the things we have in place to ensure this.

🔞🚭 0 tolerance policy on drugs and alcohol. No one will be admitted if they are under the influence of drugs or alcohol and none will be permitted on site. Smoking or vaping will be not be permitted on site. Anyone is possession of drugs will be reported to police.

🚑 We have full medical and ambulance services on site as standard. Whilst we won’t admit anyone under the influence, we will have a welfare facility available manned by the SAFE group to ensure that if we encounter this, any teen will have a safe space and will be cared for until a parent or guardian is contacted. We also have designated child protection qualified staff on site:

👮‍♀️ We are working closely with PSNI who will be visiting all licensed and off license premises in town in advance advising them of this event and the need for vigilance for fake IDs etc.

🦸‍♀️We have a group of local volunteers who will be patrolling around the town, especially around local underage drinking hot spots etc. We also have a water rescue team on site as we do for every night of the festival.

❌ There is a no re-entry policy, this is to ensure your child remains for the entirety of the event. It is also to ensure there is no consumption of alcohol off site. Only in a safeguarding or medical scenario can we intervene though if your child wishes to leave, so please reinforce this with your child.

🎪 All security staff on site are SIA approved, have undergone Access (NI) screening, and are provided by a CCAS registered security company.

For parents and guardians we hope this reassures as to how seriously we are taking safety not only at our event but beyond. It is however important to emphasise that this is not a child care service. Responsibility for your teen’s welfare lies with you and them. Please ensure safe travel to and from the event, with agreed pick up points. Reinforce with your teen that we are strict, and they must obey the rules.

Also please ensure the number supplied on the ticket for parent/ guardian is correct, and that you are available on it on the night.

We know this is a long read, and it’s not our intention to be the fun police, but it’s very important that all parties are on the same page.
