Tees Valley Labour BME Forum General Meeting
Event Information
Description
The new Tees Valley Labour BME Forum will be launching across the region very soon. As such we are reaching out to all Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Labour Party members in the constituencies of Stockton South, Stockton North, Middlesbrough, Middlesbrough and East Cleveland, Hartlepool, Redcar and Darlington. The Tees Valley Labour BME Forum aims to increase representation for our local BME members within our local Constituency Labour Parties and at regional and national level. We hope to build lasting and strong relationships in our communities and impact on the diverse communities of our local area. Through the forum we aim to organise a series of events, campaign and hold dialogue meetings with political and public office holders to secure specific policy changes and commitments and to form a framework for other areas of the country to follow. The Forum hopes to develop collaborative approaches to improve positive communication and engagement between the local authority and BME communities.
As such we are holding a general meeting open to local Labour members at Cultures CIC, 66 Dovecot Street, Stockton, TS18 1LL on Saturday 5th May at 4pm. We are also inviting all local Labour MPs and councillors.
