Hampshire Hospitals Telemedicine Service:

Rebecca Wheeler - Senior Commissioning Manager, North and Mid Hampshire Integrated Care partnership (West Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group)

Rebecca has been a Nurse for many years, starting her career as Military Nurse in 2000, during this time she worked in Acute Medicine, Trauma and Orthopaedics, and Primary Care. Upon leaving the Army she undertook a Master’s in Public Health with Kings College London, and practiced for some time as a Specialist Sexual Health Nurse and commissioned a number of Public Health services.

Whist working with West Hampshire CCG, Rebecca commissioned, redesigned and evaluated a number of Planned and Community based services. Working in the Commissioning environment offered Rebecca an optimal position to understand the technical and political complexity of system working and transformation.

Rebecca is passionate about reducing needless pain and distress through primary and secondary prevention wherever possible. The ‘Hampshire and Isle of Wight Care Home Telemedicine Support Service’ has enabled this to become a reality by supporting residents to quickly access the support they need in their home, thereby reducing the anxiety and discomfort that can manifest during acute deterioration.

Naomi Radcliffe - Senior Programme Manager, Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust

The speakers will present their exciting new approaches, providing insight to ingredients for success as well as the challenges, the impact of their approach and lessons learnt. Wessex AHSN will also promote the newly developed Telemedicine for Care Homes strategic implementation guide for STPs/CCGs
