Telling My Story: from Darkness to Light, is an exhibition of artwork by clients of Yellow Door – a Southampton based charity that supports people affected by domestic and sexual abuse.
Through a collection of paintings, drawings, sculptures, poetry and written word, victims and survivors share their stories of trauma, resilience, healing and recovery.
Each piece has been created whilst receiving support from Yellow Door and is testimony to the bravery of each individual exhibiting – an act of courage in reclaiming identity, voice, and power.
This exhibition invites the public to witness the reality of abuse, not through statistics, but through the eyes and hands of those who have lived it. By engaging with this work, we hope to create space for empathy, dialogue, and change.
Light refreshments will be served.
Yellow Door is committed to providing accessible events whether they are in person or online. Please could you let the organiser know in advance of the session your specific requirements and we will do our best to accommodate your needs, some examples may be requesting a disabled parking space, audio visual adjustments, dietary requirements, but not limited to these. *Please note that the exhibition space at Gods House Tower is accessed via staircase and unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
