Event description

Description

Are you a small business owner or creative entrepreneur who needs photographs on a regular basis for your website, blog or social media? Would you like to learn how to create beautiful images that will communicate your work and your brand to your audience? This one-day introductory workshop from lifestyle photographer Cathy Pyle will help you begin to do just that.

In the wonderfully inspiring location of Blid & Hatton’s food studio at the Medicine Garden, Cobham, we’ll spend the day focusing on the principles and practice of making gorgeous images.  Our starting point will be the unique story of your business - and from there, we’ll look at how you can tell that story in photographs, with sessions on camera settings and exposure, finding and using beautiful natural light, and composing and styling your images. We'll be a small group, and there’ll be lots of hands-on practice and a wealth of useful tips, plenty of relaxed discussion and feedback throughout the day, as well as the chance to meet and share ideas with other creative business owners.

No previous experience of photography is required. Please bring your camera - any camera that offers you manual control over exposure settings is suitable - and the manual (if you can find it!), as well as a tripod if you have one. Don’t forget to charge your battery and clear your memory card before the day! You’re also welcome to bring a few of your products and props for use during the day, if you’d like to.

Coffee, cakes and a delicious light lunch will be provided by our hosts, Blid & Hatton.
