Do I need to bring my ticket?

It helps us if you bring your ticket so that we know how many people we need to accommodate in the hall for each talk. The Principal's Welcome is on at 17.15 and repeated at 18.15.

Can my child attend on their own?

We have no facilities to supervise your child so we do ask for a parent or guardian to attend with them.

Question 3

My child has support needs. Will there be someone I can talk to?

Accepted Answer

Yes! The Sixth Form Team can talk to you about educational or pastoral needs. We also have our own Careers Adviser here on the night.

Question 4

Can I talk to someone about applying to Oxford/ Cambridge University?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Mrs Pearson, Miss Newman and Mrs Smith will be available for you to discuss your child's aspirations.

Question 5

Can I talk to someone about Medicine/dentistry/vet science?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Mrs Pearson, Miss Newman, Mrs Smith and Mrs Pasfield out Careers Adviser will be available for you to speak to.

Question 6

If I can't make it, will there be another Open Evening?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately not. However, we can arrange to talk to you on the telephone at a time convenient to you and your child. Their will also be a Taster Day for your child in January which we will be in touch about.

Question 7

Will there be a teacher from every subject there?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All of our subjects will be represented by the teachers and their current students so you can get all the information you need from the content to how it is examined. We recommend speaking to current students as well.

Question 8

What time are the talks?

There are 2 welcome talks by the Headteacher and a representative from the Student Leadership Team. The first one is at 17.15. The second one is at 18.15. You are welcome to visit subject stands and speak to teachers between these times.
