Temple of Shibboleth
Overview
Temple of Shibboleth are a 5-piece surrealist sisterhood who perform a daring musical ritual for the Home in a scintillating blend of nu-jazz, mythic prog and psych-folk.
You may have noticed their leader Billie Bottle - she’s hard to ignore - in The Other Way or with the Westbrooks or Gifford’s Circus. This all-fem band is her own vision, pastoral Canterbury-style prog and jazz - a feminist Hatfield & The North, anyone? - with proper pop songwriting. The band is triumphantly eclectic in a jazzy-end-of-prog way.
Communication not chin-stroking.This is deep music for climate collapse in a playful performance that will have you dancing, thinking and singing along! Quirky, dreamy, adventurous, heartfelt and soul-fed connection for all our beginning, middle and endtimes...
Between them, they have played Ronnie Scotts, London Jazz Festival, The Jazz Cafe, King’s Place, Camden People’s Theatre, Teatro Rossini, Vortex Jazz Club and Halle Women in Jazz Festival. They have had their music played on Jazz FM and BBC 6 Music and have played live on air for BBC Radio 3 (Late Junction and In Tune) and BBC Radio 4.
