Kickstarting a new season for the Temporary Accommodation Network with our annual conference
About this event
This online event is open to all those who are working to improve the lives and experiences of people living in temporary accommodation across England, and to individuals and organisations across the wider homelessness sector. The focus of this conference will be sharing research and learning, and discussing how evidence can be turned into action.

Part 1
10:00am - 12:00pm: Presentations followed by Q&A/Discussion
10:00am - Welcome & Introduction to the day
10:10am - Presentations start (15 minutes each)
A number of guest speakers will be sharing their research and learning, including:
- Monica from Champions Project, a national project that looked at the impact of COVID on children under 5 who lived in temporary accommodation during lockdown.
- Alex Firth from Human Rights Watch, an organisation who reports on human rights abuses all over the world.
- Cardinal Hume Centre, Westminster, an organisation that supports families and young people facing poverty and homelessness.
11:20 – Discussion/Q&A

Part 2
12:30pm - 14:00pm: Turning evidence into action: Breakout rooms
We will discuss how we can translate evidence and research into action, what changes we need to look for, and how we can cut through with evidence-based solutions.
12:30pm – Introduction to second half of the day
12:35pm – Greg Hurst: Centre for Homelessness Impact
12:55pm – Breakout rooms
Discussion of the use of Temporary Accommodation Action Groups (TAAGs) and APPGs, our Temporary Accommodation Theory of Change, or have an open discussion on vehicles for driving action.
