Making the most of bank and agency staff in the NHS

Following the Interim People Plan, this conference is a moment for trusts to come together and consider implications for temporary staffing. Flexible approaches to staffing will be key to making the NHS an employer of excellence and getting the best value for money from the workforce. NHS England and NHS Improvement, in partnership with the Department of Health and Social Care, will bring together HRDs and temporary staffing managers to hear from trusts on how we can make the most of flexible staffing and to engage with national leaders on the future shape of the temporary staffing agenda.

10.50 11.35 Building a flexible offer for our NHS colleagues through bank

  • This session will consider how trusts have made the most of their staff banks to improve the offer for staff. Rose Willis, Deputy Head of Provider Efficiency at DHSC, will share lessons from the Bank Flexible Working Pilots in 2018-19
