About this event

Charity & Causes • Environment

Rescuing and rehabilitating grounded or injured bats or orphaned bat pups can be hugely rewarding but emotionally and physically demanding. This talk is not a training session although hopefully everyone will go away having learnt something. Tricia is not setting herself up as an authority but 10 years of experience have taught her a lot. She will share some of the experiences and interesting cases of the last 10 years and will answer as many questions from the audience as she can.

Please be aware that some of the images (of injured bats) may be upsetting.

About Tricia Scott:

Tricia first got involved with bats in around 1998/9 when the volunteer warden of Snitterfield Bushes, who was a licensed bat worker, asked if she’d like to accompany him as he checked the bat boxes on that nature reserve. He then involved her in the lesser horseshoe roost counts at Bearley and Ettington. Bat care came much later – in 2015 – when the then lead bat carer for the county was looking for help.

Note that Zoom ticket sales will end 30 minutes before the event starts to ensure that the meeting link can be distributed to everyone.

This event is also available on as an in-person event in Kenilworth. Click here to find out more and buy tickets. You may also turn up and pay on the door if you want to attend in person and prefer not to buy a ticket online.
